Signs to watch for in benign lentigines include a change in color or a change in the outline of the growth. Lentigines commonly occur on the upper trunk, face, neck, hands, and forearms. They are usually benign, but can change into a malignant skin growth called “lentigo maligna” (superficial melanoma).
